Edit: Absolutely love Turbulence. It's a devil of a track. I was listening to it on vinyl when, during the part where the track gets all noisey, my house had a power outage. Gage you cheeky bastard.
Favorite track: Turbulence.
Two years after the spring-loaded swagger of Telo made its mark on the experimental club scene, Gage finally returns to Crazylegs with Mercury: a six-track EP bristling with dark energy.

Gage was more or less unknown when FACT picked up on his Neana wardub Yoshimitsu at the end of 2013. Within weeks Telo (recorded at 128bpm) had become the unlikeliest anthem at seminal London grime night Boxed. By mid 2015, Bad Bitch - a ferocious ballroom hybrid vocalled by vogue icon Kevin Jz Prodigy - was being hammered by Oneman, Jackmaster and Kode9. In the space of two years, via a steady stream of oddball bangers, Gage has quietly become one of the UK's most revered club producers.
But Mercury is the sound of Gage letting loose. From the frenzied decay of Turbulence, via the deafening roar of Gruellin to the elastic thump of Rochester Way, there's barely a familiar sound across its 20 minute expanse. Crushing industrial noise collides with pummelling techno sonics - it's intense, disorientating, at times it feels like it’s tearing apart at the seams. But like all great records, there's a fiercely unique sense of character that binds it from start to finish.
"Most of the time making music is fun for me but at times it's therapeutic too. The tracks on Mercury are generally ones that have externalised recent frustrations in my personal life and I think that comes across when you listen back. I kinda removed myself from the outside world for a bit and it freed up a lot of the limitations I used to unknowingly place on my work" - Gage
